4-channel video, ice ball made from rain, metal, vase

In the cold and rainy Dutch weather, Te often thinks about a Thai superstition where planting lemongrass upside down can stop the rain, only if done by a virgin woman. This superstition made her reflect on her role as a Thai female artist and the society she comes from, questioning her place in Thai culture while navigating her experiences in the Netherlands and the expectations placed on women.

She Cries (Thinking of the Land of Smiles) is her way of staying spiritually connected to Thailand. Through playful and heartfelt experiments, she explores homesickness, feminity, and the nature of rain.

Duo-channel video installation, mono sound, looped

“For D. Digital Tear, Digital Nightmare” is a contemplative exploration of fragility and resilience. This collaborative installation by Bobo and Te navigates the delicate state of mind, tense and strained, amidst tides of instability. Through self-documentation and performance, the artists create a video installation that resonates with vulnerability.

Beyond the installation, the artists transformed an attic into an intimate recording room, inviting guests for private sessions. In this space, they captured each guest’s facial expressions, sometimes even tears, as participants shared personal stories of struggle and haunting memories tied to living or relocating to the Netherlands, far from home. The recorded footage is stored as part of the project’s archive, with the potential to be integrated into mixed media over time. The artists envision this as an evolving project that comprises a cloud-based collection, one-on-one performances, and video installations.

In “An Invisible Thread for Those Who Walk Along,” Tine, Hussel and Te reimagine the game of “Cat’s Cradle” without the tangible string. This work transforms a familiar childhood game into a poetic and abstract exploration of non-verbal communication. By performing the intricate gestures of the game in the absence of the string, the artists create an evocative dialogue that oscillates between connection and misunderstanding.
