Performance and Installation View: ‘Ik Wou Dat Het Afwas at a sparrow under your pillow’

In a hotel in Rotterdam, two workers — one from Thailand, the other from Spain — clean rooms and wash dishes for minimum wage. With phones and digital cameras, they begin documenting their world: a forgotten pant, a conversation with a boss, the arrival of a cruise ship. Blending observational footage with speculative narration, Ik Wou Dat Het Afwas is a film project that aims to offer an intimate and ironic reflection on invisible labor, tourism, and the value of time. What does it mean to serve luxury? Who gets to travel, and who gets left behind to clean up? As a feature film project, it combines autoethnographic documentary and fiction to analyze the precariousness, capitalist violence, racism and sexism of our society in crisis.
